Holistic Dentistry
Ayurveda is one of the great gifts of the sages of ancient India to mankind. This Indian system of medicine is the oldest herbal method among all methods of science. Ayurvedic herb's has nature's own power of remedies. The right herb in the right combination keeps the body system in harmony.  Ayurvedic doctors & herbalists have developed unique Formulated Herbal Tooth Powders for effective and safe treatment of the number of diseases based on ancient system of traditional mixture of Ayurveda herbs.

These ingredients are combined in such a way that helps in cleaning of teeth, prevention from various dental problems such as dental pain, bleeding gums, mouth fibrosis due to poor eating habits or betel nut chewing habits, poor dental root, tingling tooth, tobacco chewing habits, dental numbness, formation of tartar, poor dental strength.

A Natural Gum Care Solution with the Power of Neem

Who knows Neem better than the Indians and the Ayurvedic formulations prepared using it as dominant of the many ingredients.  It could be in the form of Herbal Toothpaste or tooth powder making it a unique and powerful oral care formula containing active botanicals such as supercritical extracts of Neem Bark and Leaf, Grape seed, Clove, Fennel and other plants for maximum support of healthy gums and teeth. The herbal Neem toothpastes that avoid the use of common “unnatural” ingredients like lauryl sulfate, saccharin, parabens, artificial colors, artificial flavors or fluoride serve the purpose better.

It is a common sight in India the morning walkers chewing on Neem twig, traditionally a preferred method for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. The bark and the sap within the twig are known not only for their cleaning ability but also for protecting the mouth. Such is its prominence in Indian society, that many researchers believe that these Neem twigs have helped rural Indians avoid cavities, despite limited access to modern dental care.

Biologically Integrated Dentistry
Biologically integrated dentistry is a philosophy that recognizes that the teeth and associated structures are a part of the whole. Any disease or treatment that takes place in or around the mouth has the potential for adversely or positively impacting the entire body. As people become increasingly concerned about medical techniques and learn more about alternative health procedures, a new field of dentistry has popped up.

Known as holistic dentistry, this type of dentistry combines dental knowledge with procedures from a variety of medical systems that are designed to improve a person’s oral health.  Rather than focus on one area of a person’s body, holistic dentistry is concerned with the patient’s overall health. Believing that an imbalance in any part of a person’s body can lead to health problems in other parts of the body, holistic dentists are concerned with fully correcting any dental problem so that this health problem will not spread to other parts of the body.

Holistic Orthodontics
Orthodontic dentistry is a dental specialization that deals with problems of tooth alignment and bite problems.  Rather than just limiting orthodontic treatment to teeth straightening, holistic dentists will use a practice known as orthopedic orthodontics in which they will ensure that the muscles of the patient’s face and the patient’s head and neck are properly aligned.  By engaging in this practice, holistic dentists are not simply limited themselves to treating an oral condition but are creating preventative solutions to problems that may affect the patient’s jaw, head, neck, and spine.

Improper alignment and pain in the spine, lower back pain, and chronic head and neck pain will often have its origins in the mouth. The Neuromuscular treatment approach used by our office has been a vital tool when we are trying to restore mouths to a healthy condition. Holistic dentistryis concerned about the effect of the mouth to the overall balance and harmony of the patient’s body.

Recent studies show a positive correlation between periodontal (gum) disease and cardiovascular disease. Migraine headaches, shoulder pain, neck pain, tooth pain, temporo-mandibular joint pain, low back pain, ringing in the ears, and pressure behind the eyes are all symptoms that can be experienced by patients with teeth that are not properly aligned in harmony with the cranial structures.

The Volumetric CT Scan has many advantages over the cavitat:

The new technology uses to diagnose the presence of cavitation lesions and other jawbone infection. The Volumetric CT Scan is allowing surgeons in all areas of medicine and dentistry to see things we have never seen before in the head and neck area. This technology was designed specifically for dentistry and does not have the distortion when dental work is present that is seen in conventional CT Imaging.

  • This CT Scan can produce axial, cross sectional, panoramic and 3D images, plus it has computer software that can reconstruct the image at different angles, all from a single scan.
  • It gives the ability to accurately locate anatomic structures, like the mandibular nerve canal and the sinuses.
  • There is no image distortion. All images are geometrically accurate on a 1:1 scale, with excellent image definition and resolution.
  • Patient radiation is 15 times lower than a normal CT Scan.
  • Data acquisition takes about 70 seconds, versus the laborious process of individually checking each tooth area with the cavitat.
  • The computer software can show relative density of the tissue and bone in areas of interest confirming what one is seeing visually on the scan.

The only disadvantage is that it is not an in office procedure with most of the clinics.  The patient is referred to the closest imaging center. However, considering the cost savings and the wealth of information one can gain from a single scan, most patients do not seem to mind this minor inconvenience.

    Approach of holistic dentistry:

    • Holistic dentistry is open minded to changes and is an attempt to bring allopathic and alternative health care together for the highest good of the patient.
    • Holistic dentistry looks at the person as a whole rather than just a set of teeth and jaws.
    • Holistic dentistry looks at nutrition, where necessary.
    • Holistic dentistry looks at the impact that the mouth has on the overall health of a person.
    • When teeth are removed in most cases the toxins are also removed from the tooth socket rather than letting them stay in the jawbone.
    • Whilst not advocating root therapy for teeth where it is carried out the use of biocompatible root fillings is done.
    • The holistic dentistry of today the use of mercury amalgam fillings is avoided.  The biocompatibilities of the different tooth filling composite resins are used.
