We are pleased to alig n ourselves with a non-governmental organization (NGO), named SUKARYA, which means the good work, to volunteer in the specialised free health check-up programs/camps organized by them from time to time. These programs cover not only in oral care, but also eyes, lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, orthopaedics, gynaecology, psychology, etc.
SUKARYA has adopted few villages where the team of volunteers visits periodically. The specialist doctors volunteer provide the check up and treatment plans to the patients, particularly the poverty-stricken or socio-economically weak masses, in the rural areas. The manageable treatment plans are happily executed by some of the pharmaceutical companies in providing free medicines.
Patients requiring more advanced treatment/surgery like open heart, etc., are also handled through the funds contributed by volunteers as also money received from compassionate donors.
It is generally found with such organizations that there is good number of volunteers with heart brimming with compassion, ready to contribute time, but always short of necessary funds to comfortably and successfully meet the intended community outreach programs.
Meeting the challenges of natural calamities, like earthquakes, floods, Tsunami disasters, etc. are other areas where volunteers and medical teams are rushed with essential supplies of food, baby food, drinking water, clothes, medicines, and many of the other items relevant to the local needs, like blankets, tent shelters. Safe disposal of human and animal corpses is equally important to arrest the epidemic before it spreads.
SUKARYA volunteers with smile under any arduous conditions!
